An Australian TV program

October 2013

Maryanne Demasi is a doctor and a TV producer on the official Australian television ABC. During the last year she has been preparing two television shows about the cholesterol campaign. We have corresponded for more than a year, so she is well informed- Last week the first part was aired.

Professor Emily Banks, chair of the Advisory Committee on the Safety of Medicines wrote a letter to the ABC warning them against sending the next program (about statin treatment). People will die, she claimed. Luckily they did not listen to her. Here comes the second part of the program. This time about statin treatment.

Unfortunately they did not mention the risk of cancer, but you can read about that in our cancer paper.
